Stop in or pick up a kit to take home, all we need from you is your handprints- or footprints for the little ones! Our artists will then turn your handprints into holiday designs. We have many designs to choose from- from classic to trendy- and we can also create any custom design you have in mind! KILN FUN FACTS!
Ever wondered why it takes a week to get your pottery back?
We fire everything on-site at Wish, and we have two large kilns to get through everything our customers paint. After you leave your piece with us and it has dried at least overnight, almost all pieces get dipped in a clear glaze. Some pieces, that were painted with our pottery glazes, go straight into the kiln without being clear glazed.
Once dried, our kiln manager Matt plays a little game of Tetris to fit everything into the kiln! Using bricks of different heights to support shelves, we create layers in the kiln. Each item sits on a stilt, which has a few small metal pins for the ceramic piece to sit on. Without these stilts, all of the ceramic pieces would become completely stuck to the shelves during the firing process!
All of our bisque is low-fire, so our kilns heat up to only about 1800 degrees. It usually takes 7-8 hours to get up to this temperature, and then another 15-20 hours before it is cool enough for us to open it and unload pieces. If the kiln is opened too early, the pieces will crack from the temperature change from the outside air.
We usually fit 50-100 pieces in the kiln- though very large pieces, like Christmas trees, can decrease this number greatly! Once we have unloaded all of these pieces, we use photos to sort everything and pack it up, ready to be taken home!

FAQs
Can I just walk in and paint?
Yes, you can walk in any time during our open hours to paint any project off our shelves. We recommend coming in at least 45-60 minutes before closing time to give yourself enough time to choose and paint your project. We also offer walk-in canvas painting and clay hand building (for ages 8+) during our open hours. *Please note: you need at least 60 minutes to complete a project.*
What are your hours?
We’re open everyday! Sunday 12-5, Monday - Wednesday 12-6, Thursday 12-8, Friday 12-7, and Saturday 10-7.
How much does it cost?
Our studio pricing is all-inclusive, so we do not have additional fees for studio time, paints, or firing. Our projects start at $20 and go up in price depending on the size and complexity of the piece.
Do I need a reservation?
We do not offer reservations, our studio is first-come, first-serve. We have a lot of available seating and space in our studio. If you’d like to reserve a private space for your group, you can check out our private event options for kids and adults.
How long does it take for my piece to be ready?
Pieces are ready for pickup 7-10 days after painting. We glaze and fire every piece on site. After firing, we’ll hold your piece for 60 days. We can ship your pieces if needed once they’re ready.
Can I actually use my painted piece?
After your piece is fired and returned to you, it is fully food-safe and usable. We recommend hand washing or top rack only of the dishwasher to preserve the life of your piece.
Can we sit outside?
We do have an outdoor patio which you are welcome to use during nice weather. Our patio is not lit, so it is only open during daytime hours. It may be reserved occasionally for private events.
Can I bring food and drinks?
Guests can bring water bottles and drinks, and those 21+ can BYOB. However, food and snacks are not allowed in our studio unless you have booked a private event or are attending a class.
